Abstract/Notes For a few years in the early 1920s, the cradle of the Confederacy housed the only chiropractic school known to have operated in Alabama. Prompted perhaps by federally funded tuition for World War I veterans, the Southern Chiropractic College, Inc. brought the traditions of the Carver Chiropractic College of Oklahoma to the heart of Dixie. The school was rechartered in 1925 as Carver Chiropractic College South, but had disappeared two years later, presumably attributable to the expiration of veterans’ benefits. This brief review provides an assessment of what was probably one of the better, albeit short-lived, chiropractic schools in the period.
