Abstract/Notes

Computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and myelography have all been utilized in diagnosing the various causes of low back pain. Each procedure has certain strengths and weaknesses. This article discusses the reliability of each procedure. The article concludes by noting that each procedure should be used to confirm the clinical impression derived from the physical examination.
