Title Development and design of an innovative postgraduate course in practice-based learning at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic
Journal J Chiropr Educ. 1999 Spring;13(1):8-11
Peer Review Yes
Publication Type Article
Abstract/Notes Chiropractors are increasingly required to update their knowledge and skills to keep pace with the everchanging health-care environment in which they practice. Recently, a radically different approach to postgraduate and continuing professional education in health care has emerged. This approach ensures that learning outcomes are relevant to individuals' needs, directly applicable in enhancing clinical practice and improving patient care, and engendering an ability on the part of the individual to reflect and learn autonomously throughout professional life. This article describes how these concepts have been applied in an innovative postgraduate chiropractic course in practice-based learning developed at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, United Kingdom.
