Objective: The purpose of this case study is to describe the resolution of brachial plexus palsy following birth trauma in a newborn.
Clinical Features: A 14-day-old male presented for consultation and possible care with a brachial plexus injury following a traumatic birth. Physical examination revealed upper cervical subluxation.
Intervention and Outcome: The patient received Diversified Technique described as “touch and hold” to atlas subluxation. Following the first visit there was noticeable improvement in the patient’s involved arm which completely resolved by the second visit.
Conclusion: This case report provides supporting evidence that infants presenting with brachial plexus injury due to birth trauma may benefit from chiropractic care.
