Objective: This case study describes the positive health outcomes in a 12-year-old patient with otitis media and nocturnal enuresis following chiropractic care to reduce vertebral subluxation.

Clinical Features: A 12-year-old female patient presented with nocturnal enuresis and recurring otitis media. Her history indicated previous treatment with five sets of tympanostomy tubes. The last set of tubes had fallen out after two weeks. Postural abnormalities were noted upon examination with subluxations of C2, C4, T5-8, right and left ilia, and sacrum.

Intervention and Outcome: Diversified adjusting technique was utilized with a Chiropractic Biophysics postural evaluation and mirror image adjusting. After two visits the patient’s guardian reported she had woken up to use the restroom during the night, which was unusual. After 1½ months and nine adjustments patient began noticing less frequent nocturnal enuresis and has not had an episode of acute otitis media in the 1½ years she has been under care.

Conclusion: This case demonstrates the health outcomes following chiropractic adjustment to resolve neurological interference and decrease symptoms of enuresis and otitis media. Further research should be undertaken to ascertain the neurological response to chiropractic care and its effect on enuresis and otitis media following the reduction of subluxation.
