Abstract/Notes

Excerpt: In order to define the current best practices to others, the ACBSP develops position stands. These position stands define best practices on a specific sports medicine topic for the ACBSP certificants, the chiropractic profession and other interested parties. The ACBSP has plans to create additional position stands. For example, the ACBSP has created and updated the ACBSP position stand on concussion in sporting populations. This year the ACBSP will advance a position stand on the preparticipation examination (PPE). The purpose of the PPE position is to identify the qualifications of doctors of chiropractic to perform preparticipation examinations and to identify best practices for performing the PPE to the general healthcare community and decision making bodies.
