Abstract/Notes

Breast cancer is the most common cancer for women in the Western world, and the incidence has been increasing since 1940. The highest incidence rates are observed in North America, and the lowest in Asia and Africa. Based on biological and biochemical mechanisms and epidemiological data, there is a strong rationale that vitamin D may help prevent breast cancer.
