As I finished writing part II of this series, it was my intent to review in detail the risk of M 3 1 exposure from nuclear power plant accidents and optimal use of potassium iodide supplementation to mitigate its effects while keeping risks of side effects from potassium iodide supplementation at a minimum. H ow ever, as I continued to follow reports on radiation concerns, it became very obvious to me that I had completely neglected to mention another radiation issue that has been of great concern to many people in the US both before and after the tsunami-related disaster Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant on M arch 11 of this year. This concern relates to non-ionizing radiation, which has become ever more ubiquitous in our environment for several years now. If you are wondering why you have not heard more about this issue, I can assure you that you have heard much about this issue in the past and will hear much more about this issue in the future under the guise of another moniker, cell phone-induced radiation.
