Abstract/Notes

The September 2012 issue of Topics in Integrative Health Care presents articles of interest to clinicians, particularly chiropractors and other complementary and alternative health care providers who care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. TIHC Associate Editor, Daniel Redwood, DC, contributes a timely commentary on the implications of the Supreme Court’s upholding of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Ekele Enyinnaya, DC, MS, and colleagues present their research on chiropractic care and Medicaid coverage for patients with arthritis, an important public health and health service issue. Jay Greenstein, DC, and colleagues investigate the effect of an orthopedic cervical pillow on sleep outcomes among patients with Whiplash Associated Disorder, a topic of interest to any providers serving patients with this very common complaint. Clinton Daniels, DC, MS, and Frank Scali, DC, have contributed a clinical brief on sports hernia, a topic of particular interest to clinicians serving athletes.
