Abstract/Notes With chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) on the rise for older athletes, together with its related memory and cognitive difficulties, health care providers are becoming increasingly concerned about the cumulative effect of such trauma on younger athletes. DCs, however, are not allowed to diagnose concussions on the field in several states. Dr. Ted Forcum wants that changed.
