Abstract/Notes The Clintion administration recently proposed many reforms in the health care system. These changes may affect the way that businesses view employees' health car needs. This article reports the results of a survey that was conducted to asses the prevention, acute chiropractic are, and rehabilitation health care needs of business and industry in a mid-sized , midwestern city. It was found that there were significant differences in the health care services southt by large and small businesses. Large businesses sought significantly higher levels of rehabilitive health care than were sought by small businesses. Samll businesses appeared to pursue a more balanced approach to health care--seeking preventive and rehabilitive services at nearly equal rates. it was suggested that this may be a strategy emplyed by small businesses in an attempt to hold health care costs down. As managed care is implemented it is possible that larges busiensses will follow the lead of small businesses and focus more on preventive and acute care, also.
