Abstract/Notes A qualitative document analysis was conducted on the New York Times from 1960-1975 when the American Medical Association developed a committee to eliminate chiropractic. Chiropractic was fighting for licensing rights, inclusion into Medicare, and recognition as a legitimate field. The results indicate the New York Times utilized the conflict frame and cited sources on both sides of the issue; however, the focus of reporting was on questioning the legitimacy of chiropractic.
