Abstract/Notes Excerpt: James Watkins has produced an illuminating learning tool in his latest publication. It is an exemplary textbook on basic biomechanics in sports and exercise—it is concise, well written, and well presented. Designed principally as a text for an undergraduate course in basic biomechanics, this work's purpose is to teach the reader about the basic concepts of physics and how they apply to whole body human movement, especially during physical activities.
