Abstract/Notes Objective: To introduce awareness that the presentation of infertility can change when a nervous system is able to function normally.

Clinical Features: A 65-year young female presented with agonizing low back pain and severe lumbar degeneration. After four weeks of care she began spotting and was diagnosed as having a normal menstrual cycle. Her past history indicated a severe fall at 13 years of age and complete cessation of her menses at 18. She was diagnosed as infertile.

Intervention and Outcome: Patient was adjusted using the Stucky-Thompson Terminal Point Technique with an initial care schedule of 6x per week for 2 weeks, followed by 3x per week for 6 weeks. Progress examinations were performed regularly. A radiological study confirmed advanced phase III lumbar degeneration at the L5-S1 segmental level. SEMG and Thermography data established considerable reflex muscular hypertonicity as well as significant temperature differential at L5-S1 indicating autonomic involvement. Vertebral subluxations were confirmed at L3, L4, and L5, including the sacrum.

Conclusion: The vertebral subluxation is an entity which has profound effects on the neuromusculoskeletal system, yet is ameliorable to correction. In this case, the fall produced a vertebral subluxation complex, which caused severe disc and osseous remodeling and affected reproductive functions. With attention focused on subluxation correction, chiropactic care is an option for the subluxated infertile population.
