Abstract/Notes In the [last] 10 years, I have become less comfortable with some of our bolder innovations in chiropractic technique that amount to wildly speculative esoterica. Naturally, I am not blameless in all this. For some reason, since the first time I saw leg checking done, I have been obsessed with it. I spent most of my chiropractic career thinking the short leg side identified a same-side PI ilium, and I still do (sort of). A few years ago, it dawned on me that it might make more sense to palpate the iliums to identify pelvic torsion. Leg-check findings are likely to correlate with pelvic findings, but lacking solid evidence to the contrary, wouldn’t it make more sense to examine the pelvis if the information sought pertains to the pelvis?
