Abstract/Notes It didn't take long for me to notice, when I entered chiropractic college in 1981, that the technique instructors rarely agreed with each other about anything. This was true whether they were talking about little things, such as which was the side of the short leg, or big things, such as which technique systems got the best results. It was even true when they were talking about the biggest thing of all: whether chiropractic would survive. One professor sagely assured me that medicine as we knew it would be gone by the 21st century, overcome by the chiropractic juggernaut, while another predicted that it would not be long before chiropractic had become amalgamated (grandfathered) into the medical profession. .
