Abstract/Notes

The purpose of this paper is to examine the events which led to the passage of the Drugless Practitioner’s Act in Ontario in 1925.  It defined and shaped the practice of chiropractic (and other drugless professions) in Ontario until its repeal in 1975.  But the debate over chiropractic those earlier years was contentious and lively, revealing deep divisions both between chiropractic and mainline medicine and within chiropractic itself.
