Abstract/Notes Using a simple five-step process and a case report checklist presented in Part One of this article (March 2002 JACA), we proposed that you can quickly and easily derive greater benefit from case reports that you read. At the end of Part One, we promised to point out positive and negative aspects of a published case report in Part Two. One of the best ways to integrate new information into your practice is to use literature from peer-reviewed journals to help solve cases presenting to your office. In this part, we will use a clinical scenario to help you with the five-step process, to illustrate how to critique literature that you may find, and to make it relevant to your practice.
